10 YEAR GUARANTEE
Traditional Conservatories installed double-glazed timber windows and doors are guaranteed for a period of 10 years against complaints arising from faulty workmanship or defective materials of the timber construction.
Standard sealed double-glazed units have a 10-year guarantee. This covers the breakdown of the seal manifested by condensation within the sealed panes (excluding breakage). In the unlikely event that this were to occur, the affected unit would be replaced free of charge with the closest match possible at the time of replacement, allowing for changes in glazing technology. Should failure of the unit occur in the first 5 years, the cost of the unit and its installation would be covered by the guarantee. Should failure occur in the second 5 years, the guarantee would cover the cost of supplying the replacement unit. Future Units are guaranteed to the same effect for 5 years. No other glass defects are covered by the guarantee.
Weather seals have a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty.
Hinges, catches, fasteners, handles, locks are guaranteed against functional failure for 5 years. The cost of the replacement item and the installation would be covered by the guarantee. Surface finishes of all windows and door fittings, fixings and ironmongery are covered for 12 months.
Accoya® wood is guaranteed against rot for 50 years (Accoya® wood scope of warranty applies, which can be provided on request).
The guarantee is subject to the instructions of the redecoration cycle being complied with.
A maintenance coat may be required depending on location and exposure to weather and environmental conditions. Joinery will require a maintenance coat every 2-3 years or more regularly if located in an exposed location. Joinery items constructed from anything other than Accoya may need more regular inspection and maintenance. Any Joinery constructed from oak and finished in translucent coats will require a 6 monthly inspection and possible recoating at these same intervals. A routine annual cleaning and inspection regime must be allowed for.
The recommended maintenance coats and annual cleaning and inspection are not included in the guarantee.
If the guidelines are followed with regular inspection and cleaning, a simple one coat redecoration with minimal preparation is all that will be required in the time intervals specified above and on the care and maintenance guide and instructions.
Our guarantee does not cover defects beyond our control, including damage after delivery to site or after installation has been completed, “Acts of God”, faults arising from misuse or abuse of any of the mechanisms of the windows or doors themselves, incorrect storage, incorrect installation by others, defective brickwork or render, accidents or malicious damage, incorrect or insufficient maintenance of timber. The guarantee is invalidated if yacht varnish, polyurethane varnish, harsh or abrasive cleaning materials or chemicals, any non-microporous timber treatment or other traditional skin forming wood treatments or paints which seal the external surfaces are used. Whilst only the best timbers are used, timber is a natural material that expands and contracts according to environmental conditions. We therefore cannot guarantee new windows or doors against minor movement.
The guarantee is transferable should you move, for which an administration charge would apply through FENSA.
A quotation for works not included within the guarantee can be provided according to requirements.
